Warrior Goddess Training: Become the Woman You Are Meant To Be
By Heather Ash Amara
Amara states that women were “trained to seek our wholeness and value and to find love through others.” She was trained in Toltec wisdom and shamanism. Now she wants to share her wisdom and help woman be so much more. She wrote this book based on a year-long program she created in 1997called Thirteen Moons.
In the first of 10 lessons, she encourages the reader to “Commit to You” and learn to “love all of who you are, flaws and all.” In the sixth lesson, “Claim Your Strength and Ignite Your Will” she states, say “Yes” to personal truth and authenticity. Throughout the lessons she looks at agreements and unconscious patterns and how they influence and affect us. She describes how to separate judgment and emotions and have a more balanced way of relating to others. Readers will find further reading suggestions broken down by lesson topic. Each chapter has exercises, resources, and explorations. For example, Lesson Eight, “Speak Your Truth” includes an exercise of reflection on what messages you were taught or believed growing up, and resources including gifts such as, “Speaking our truth is often as uncomfortable as it is empowering” and explorations to help one with “Finding Your Truth.” Although this book is advertised as “for women only” it isn’t.
