NUWAY Adds Four New Vice President Positions

Non-profit, addiction and co-occurring health treatment provider, NUWAY®, announced Wednesday they have added four new vice president positions to help further its mission and “evolve its vision for behavioral healthcare innovation.”

  • Denise McAlpin is the new Vice President of Residential Services supporting existing and new residential programs including NUWAY Alliance management of Cochran Recovery Services. Ms. McAlpin has been with NUWAY for 9+ years and has had various leadership roles within the organization.
  • Lindsay Battuello is the new Vice President of Outpatient services supporting continued outpatient growth, development, and community clinical consultation. Ms. Battuello has been with the organization for 7+ years and most recently was the Executive Director of Outpatient Development at NUWAY.
  • Amy Dellwo becomes the new Vice President of Public Policy representing NUWAY interests in concert with the Community Relations Team to advance identified initiatives at the local, state and federal level.
  • John Miller joins the team as the new Vice President of Strategic Development to support tactical advancement of the NUWAY mission within and beyond our state borders.

“My promotion is one of four strategic moves made by NUWAY leadership to ensure we are actively supporting our mission goals,” McAlpin wrote via email, when asked about her new position.

Last year, NUWAY stepped in to lead a fledgling residential treatment facility in Hastings.

“Our management of Cochran Recovery Services is a great example of how we have been able to translate some of our formulas for delivering quality treatment services into a template that may benefit other organizations as well. Cochran was preparing to shut its doors before we were asked to intervene. In the past year we have returned it to a stable and successful status serving over 40 men and women daily. We’ll use 2020 to continue evaluating the program before making any decisions about integration.”

In the near future, McAlpin and her colleagues will be opening a new women’s residential program in Minneapolis and will continue to expand their R.I.S.E. (Recovery In Supportive Environments) Outpatient Model.

“The future of treatment needs to continue to focus on ways to improve access for more clients in need and on continuing to be innovative in how we partner with community resources to extend the continuum of care. Those are aspects directly aligned with our mission that we continue to work on in the coming year.”

NUWAY has been serving men and women with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders since 1966. Based in Minneapolis, NUWAY has nine residential and outpatient treatment facilities throughout the state. More information can be found at their website nuway.org.
